YSL Woody one of the associates of rapper Young Thug is being reported dead, erroneously, following the suspicious gunning down of one of his associates known as Tay.
Worried fans of the crew have jumped online to search for information on the current status of Woody amidst worries over his life.
Woody is fine and safe, for now at least, but one of their affiliates known as Tay has passed away.
What were the Origins of the YSL Woody Dead Rumors
The source of the rumors regarding YSL Woody being dead stems from X (formerly Twitter) and TikTok.
A post from the page Raphouse TV with a news report on the shooting of a YSL affiliate appeared to have started the confusion.
The caption to the video read: “YSL Woody from Young Thug R.I.C.O. Case’s affiliate Tay was Shot & Killed this morning in Atlanta 💔🕊️”
For whatever reason, most probably the way the sentence was worded, many people read ‘YSL Woody shot and killed’ and completely skipped over ‘affiliate Tay’ in the sentence.
The brain does what the brain does sometimes and people were coming out from this post with the impression that Woody had been killed. It definitely did not help that his photo was attached to the video.

The attached video was a news report from WSB-TV on the shooting of the YSL affiliate Tay.
The report revealed the deadly shooting occurred in Southwest Atlanta at Peyton Place where Tay appeared to have been chilling inside his apartment.
Police were called to the apartment at 9 Peyton Place SW near Martin Luther King Drive SW around 3 a.m. Saturday.
When officers arrived they found a man in his early 20s shot to death. Police found no other casualties and said they have very little information on the case currently.
WSB-TV reported that police stayed on the scene for over three hours after the shooting, collecting evidence, canvassing, etc.
The Raphouse TV post quickly got some scared fans commenting, erroneously believing YSL Woody was the one shot.
“Man gone I’m thinking Woody dun died…” one comment on the post read.
Another berated Raphouse TV for posting the “worst clickbait on the whole Twitter to the point it’s entertaining,”
Nevertheless, others got the post right and said this was simply a warning to Woody about not going rogue.
YSL Woody has been a consequential witness in the case against Young Thug as he’s widely seen by the prosecution as their star witness.
Real name Kenneth Copeland, Woody is an ex-con associate of Young Thug and the defense has argued he’s being coerced to deliver the testimony the prosecution wants to secure their conviction.
Young Thug himself is facing eight criminal counts under a federal law that was originally enacted to fight organized crime. Prosecutors argue he leads a criminal street gang responsible for numerous crimes.
Considering Woody’s centrality to the entire case and thus being tagged a snitch, he will likely remain a figure of public fascination until the trial resolves one way or another.
Nevertheless, with associates starting to fall, there is no doubt he is going to take more protective measures going forward as this contentious case is far from over.
