Who was Grant Beyer? Man Killed in Wrong-Way Crash on Route 33 in Buffalo

A man was killed and two others injured after a wrong-way crash on Route 33 in Buffalo Sunday.

Grant Beyer, 26, of Williamsville, was killed when his Nissan Altima traveling the wrong way struck another vehicle head-on around 9:30 p.m. near the Grider Street exit.

Three people were injured in the crash and transported to ECMC, where Beyer later died.

The two occupants of the other vehicle survived with non-life threatening injuries.

“It appears during the investigation that the vehicle was traveling in the wrong direction on the 33,” said Commissioner Joseph Gramaglia of Buffalo Police.

“Unfortunately from time to time it happens, but in this particular investigation it appears that alcohol played a role in it,”

Beyer was a former high school and college basketball and football star, playing for Hilbert College, Williamsville South High School and St Joseph’s Collegiate Institute.
