A married couple is dead following a shooting in Penn Yan that police are describing as a murder-suicide.
According to the Penn Yan Police Department, Ashley Monaco, 38, shot her husband Michael Personale, 37, multiple times before turning the gun on herself.
Monaco reportedly shot her husband in the torso and head before shooting herself in the neck.
Penn Yan police were called to a home on Franklin Street around 7:30 p.m. Tuesday and found two people dead of apparent gunshot wounds.
A family member had called 911 about a shooting at the residence.
Officers determined following an investigation that the shooting was a murder-suicide.
