Tony Caton, a motorcycle enthusiast resident in Laconia New Hampshire who was well known for his eye-catching wheelies has died, reportedly from an accident.

A bike crash during the Laconia bike week has deprived the world of Anthony Caton’s talents.

The crash reportedly happened during the 2024 Laconia Bike Week, a convocation of bike enthusiasts in the Granite State that has seen a high fatality rate among bike riders, particularly in recent years.

The death of Tony Caton of Round Lake, New York has been reported by numerous motorcycle enthusiasts who knew and loved him.

Anthony Caton is reported to have died after a bike crash in Laconia during its famed bike week that kicked off Saturday, June 8th.

According to NBC 5, Caton was riding with two others when a gust of wind caused one of the motorcyclists to lost control and crash.

Two motorcyclists behind him attempted evasive maneuvers to avoid hitting the crashed bike but all three ended up getting injuries.

Caton, who was one of the two motorcyclists behind according to the report, was transported to Speare Hospital and then airlifted to Dartmouth Hospital where he died of his injuries.

The rider who initially went off the road sustained critical injuries and the second rider sustained minor injuries.

Numerous posts showed up on social media sites confirming the passing of Caton.

A post from Plex Audio which provides plug-and-play music systems for Harley-Davidson motorcycles confirmed Caton died while riding.

They expressed their condolences, noting Tony had been a client from the beginning of the company when they had yet to prove themselves in the market.

Plex Audio’s post also confirmed that he died riding.

He passed doing what he truly loved and to be clear, he was not being reckless at the time of his accident but there are risks anytime we swing our legs over that saddle,” they said.

Additional posts described Tony as a great guy to be around and a brother in the motorcycle community.

Chad Dorrough mourned on Facebook, recalling the highs and lows they’d had over the years as brothers in the Chango/Round Lake/Northway 11 group.

“We’ve lost a lot of the crew over the years and we took another hit this week losing Tony Caton. My craziest and funniest memories always involved you and Matty D. We didn’t stay close as adults but we always said hello and unfortunately shared a bond in the memories and the loss of our friends as we got older. You were unequivocally you and I always admired you for that,” he said.

Another poster, Warren Armc wrote: “R.I.P To A Legend In The Motorcycle Community! Tony Caton Gunna Miss Ya Dawg, May Your Spirit Live On.. Condolences To The Whole Caton Family From Alpha Ridaz Mc New York,”

According to Facebook, aside from his love for motorcycles, Caton worked with Caton’s Paving in Laconia.

The business was engaged in residential and commercial paving of driveways, parking lots, resurfacing, new work and repairs, etc.

Caton loved working out, according to photos shared on his Facebook page. He was also in love with performing wheelies on the road at full speed and had an impressive number of videos showing him displaying his motorcycle skills on his Instagram.

One of his last videos was one such video on Instagram showing him engaged in his favorite pastime.

“On my way to Mount Washington 🏔️” he wrote, revealing he was enjoying the ongoing bike week.

Tony Caton loved motorcycles, that much was clear. And tragically it appears his love for living life on the extreme has now been forever curtailed with his tragic death.
