A beloved man of God who has positively impacted a multitude of lives in a myriad of ways has been taken off this earthly plane following news that Ricky Garcia, a former associate pastor of the Family Church in McAllen, has died.

A brutal traffic collision of which few details have been released led to the passing of Garcia, a great man of God, businessman, father, and wife.

News of his passing has stunned his close circle, former colleagues, and leadership of The Family Church as well as the enormous number of people who he helped in many ways throughout his years in ministry.

A great man of God, brilliant Rio Grande Valley real estate investor, loving husband, and father – these are just some of the adjectives used to describe Ricky Garcia, a former pastor of the family church in McAllen Texas following his tragic demise.

McAllen died on Saturday, June 15th, 2024, according to a post from The Family Church where he cut his teeth as a man of God and evangelist.

The church announced Garcia’s passing in a post on its Facebook page, writing: “…It is with a heavy heart that we announce the passing of our friend and former pastor at The Family Church, Ricky Garcia. Ricky was a beloved husband to Pastor Nikki, an incredible father to his two children, Emberly and Drako & impacted the lives of many for the kingdom. He passed away early this morning June 15th, 2024. We ask that you partner with us through prayer for the Garcia family,”

The post said funeral announcements and visitation would be publicly released once the family has had a chance to finalize those details.

Ricky’s wife, Nikki also shared a tribute to her late husband, promising to meet him in heaven.

Garcia, who hails from McAllen Texas, studied Psychology at the University of Texas Pan American, Edinburg, and spent his youth as a pastor in The Family Church.

He joined The Family Church in late 2013 after completing a ministry training program in 2012.

Together with his wife, Nikki Garcia, Ricky worked with teens, ushering them into a life of ministry and evangelism by helping them nurture their relationship with Jesus Christ and developing a deep love for the Bible.

After four years of this crucial work, Ricky Garcia was named an Associate pastor of the Church in McAllen.

[Ricky] is passionate about discipling and equipping people for the ministry. He likes to exercise, play sports, and hunt,” the church’s description on his bio read.

Along the way, Ricky also co-founded Goodhome LLC, a real estate investment company. He also maintained a Youtube channel where he spoke about his love for Christ and family.

Ricky and Nicki Garcia’s marriage produced two beautiful girls, Emberly and Drako Garcia.

Sadly, this great young man would be struck down in his prime by a tragic demise, irrevocably altering the lives of his beautiful family and all those he impacted.

Garcia died June 15th and tributes have been pouring out in droves, a testament to the great work he did while alive.

Patricia Bravo, writing on Facebook, said news of Pastor Ricky’s death was heartbreaking.

She recounted how he impacted countless lives including that of her daughter who was connected to youth ministry by the guidance of Garcia.

“Thank you Pastor Ricky for guiding our youth for so many years. You will be missed. Nikkia Garcia we love you and our hearts are with you and your girls in this difficult time,” Bravo said.

Covenant Christian Academy where Ricky trained also shared a message of condolence.

“We ask all CCA families to join us in prayer for his wife, Nikki, and their children as they grieve this profound loss. May God’s comfort and peace surround them during this difficult time,” the post shared on Facebook said.

McAllen business the Sweet Grace Pastry shop also had a brilliant encapsulation of Garcia’s impact.

“Ricky changed lives, inspired so many and touched so many families through the family Church. We’re deeply affected with this news,” their post read.

Ricky Garcia’s legacy of ministry, leading young people to Christ and helping them gain a deeper understanding of scripture, is worth highlighting.

He may be gone but he would certainly not be forgotten as his memory would be forever cherished by those he helped in one way or another.
