A 15-year-old Palmyra High School student who was killed after being hit by a New Jersey transit train has been identified.
The teenager was crossing at Chestnut Street in Palmyra, NJ around 8:19 a.m. Thursday when he was struck by a River LINE train travelling northbound.
The deceased was identified as a Palmyra HS star athlete, Matthew Dickinson.
Dickinson was described as a great friend, teammate and student by all who knew him.
A memorial was held for him by the Palmyra PTA to remember the incredible life of Matthew Dickinson.
Meanwhile, residents of the area of the crash complained about the safety of the tracks which run close by many homes.
One resident, Jeffery, told NBC: “Sometimes the light don’t work. Sometimes the railing don’t work. The railings that’s coming down, sometimes they get stuck and take an hour to get fixed,”
