Mary Hawkins, 61, of Mobile, Alabama, has been identified as one of two people killed Monday during an accident on the Dauphin Island bridge.

Hawkins was driving a 2014 Lexus ES-350 when she collided head-on with a 2018 GMC Sierra driven by 33-year-old Austin Ross, of Conway, Arkansas.

Hawkins and a 7-year-old passenger in the GMC identified only as Logan died at the scene while Ross and a 40-year-old passenger, Laura Ramirez, sustained critical injuries.

Ross and Ramirez were transported to University Hospital in Mobile for treatment alongside three additional passengers in the GMC – a 7-year-old and two 17-year-olds – who also sustained injuries and were transported to a local area hospital.

According to the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency, the crash occurred just before 2 p.m. Monday on Alabama 193 near mile marker 1, about a mile north of Dauphin Island.

The Alabama Law Enforcement Agency’s (ALEA) Highway Patrol Division continues to investigate the crash.

Meanwhile, a GoFundMe started by the family of the 7-year-old boy who died identified him as Logan.

Per the fundraiser, started by his sister Marleigh, Logan was the son of the injured Laura Ramirez and brother of one of the injured 17-year-olds, identified as Aidin.

The other 17-year-old was named Bowen and is Aidin’s best friend.

The driver of the GMC, Austin Ross, was the father of Liam, the injured 7-year-old boy.

All six were from Conway, Arkansas, and were traveling for vacation.

The fundraiser is to raise money to aid with Logan’s funeral and for medical expenses for all the others injured in the crash.
