A Wesley Chapel native who was shot dead in an incident near Bruce B Downs Boulevard in New Tampa, Florida, has been identified as Kyle Prisco.
Authorities are yet to formally identify Prisco as the deceased in the incident but posts on social media by grieving family and friends as well as a Gofundme fundraiser named him as the victim.
Prisco’s family is devastated by news of his death as they mourn the passing of a young man with a very promising future to a senseless act of violence.
Family Mourns Kyle Prisco, Murdered in Bruce B Downs Boulevard Shooting in New Tampa Florida
Kyle Prisco has been identified as the unfortunate soul at the center of a shooting in New Tampa Florida that left one person dead.
Prisco, according to reports, hails from Wesley Chapel, Florida.
He is said to be an alumnus of Wiregrass Ranch High School.
Prisco reportedly lost his life in a shooting that stunned his friends, family, colleagues, and all who loved him.
He is being mourned and remembered for his generosity, willingness to help others, and all-round gregarious personality.
On Tuesday, June 17th, 2024, a shooting occurred in New Tampa that unbeknownst to the family of this young man was going to be a sad bit of news for them.
News reports from Florida revealed that a man had been found dead in the streets after being shot multiple times in the 19000 block of Bruce B Downs Boulevard near the intersection with Regents Park Drive.
Police did not identify the victim nor did they appear to have much information about the suspect.
Multiple news reports simply said the police were counting on the public to help in identifying whoever might have shot and killed the deceased.
As one can see, while a lot of information was out there about the New Tampa murder, little was available about those involved.
Social media users filled that gap as the deceased was identified as Prisco by those who knew him and started mourning him.
Jamie Salum on Facebook mourned Prisco heavily describing him as a son.
“When I can find the right words, I’ll tell you all about this kid. He was very much like a son to me and a very big part of our family 💔 His name is Kyle Prisco,” he said.
A deeply emotional tribute from Rubi Mar also revealed how she grew up with Kyle and he’d always been there for her no matter what.
She said Kyle was one of the people who stood by her when she decided to pursue music as a career.
“I’m upset that this happened but it’s a reminder that our life is vapor and that we gotta love on each other. I Love you Kyle. Rest in peace 🕊️😭♥️,” she concluded.
Another Facebook user mourned the late young man.
“Anyone who went to school or knew Kyle, knew how kind-hearted, outgoing, and friendly he was to everyone,” Payton Elizabeth said.
A GoFundMe was set up on behalf of the Prisco family to raise money to help organize his funeral expenses.
The fundraiser, started by one Danielle Henry, confirmed Prisco’s identity and his murder in the Bruce B Down shooting.
Henry said: “I’ve set up this fundraiser to assist Kyle’s sister, Kayla, and his mother, Lisa, with any expenses related to the funeral. Losing a loved one is an ordeal that no one should have to endure,”
Prisco was a young man with great plans for his future, a friend to all, and a delight in the lives of many.
Tragically, while his family and friends expected so much more of him, he was taken from this world via a cruel twist of fate.
Things work out that way sometimes and one can only shoulder on and try and keep alive the memory of those taken from us.
