And just like that the biggest viral story of the year continues to grow even larger with new information emerging that the beloved Hawk Tuah spit on that thing girl isn’t who we all thought she was but instead, she’s one Katie Vickers, daughter of Harley Vickers, the pastor of Little Hope Baptist Church in Somerset.
The viral claim, emerging from the Facebook Page The Somerset Insider, has gone viral and reignited this massive story once more, contradicting the currently prevailing narrative that the Hawk Tuah girl is Hailey Welch of Nashville!

Katie Vickers Somerset ‘Exposed’ as Hawk Tuah Girl, Daughter of Little Hope Baptist Church Pastor Harley Vickers – Explained
The story about Katie Vickers of Somerset being the viral Hawk Tuah girl emerged on Facebook around midday Thursday, June 20th, 2024 on the Facebook page, The Somerset Insider.
The page told a cute and plausible-sounding story about the viral girl, revealing her to be a Kentucky girl and the daughter of a pastor, no less!
According to the page’s narration, ‘local woman’ Katie Vickers, 25, of Somerset, has taken the internet by storm with her performance in a recent interview.
Purporting to shed more light on the situation, the Somerset Insider then claimed Vickers, now easily the most famous woman on the internet and the subject of a massive (wo)manhunt, to uncover her identity, is the daughter of a pastor!

Now ever since the Hawk Tuah video went viral everyone has been trying to find the girl behind it yet, she has remained in hiding. Typically, people who go viral in such a nuclear fashion rush onto the internet and attempt to capitalize on their newfound fame, recalling situations such as the ‘crazy plane lady’ who went viral after drunkenly claiming to see aliens on a plane.
However, the so-called Hawk Tuah girl has remained in hiding, and according to this Somerset inside piece, this is because Katie Vickers is the daughter of a pastor!!
The piece claims Katie’s mother is one Harley Vickers, the pastor of a Somerset church known as the Little Hope Baptist Church.
“This isn’t the kind of attention we wanted for our family,” the Reverend Vickers is quoted as saying. “We hoped she’d spread the Good Word, not become a national laughing stock.”
Both Katie and her best friend in the video, who has also been named as Melinda Capshaw, were quoted.
“I was just being myself,” Katie allegedly said, “I never imagined it’d get this big!”
Capshaw also added: “Katie is super awesome. She’s a little embarrassed about the video becoming so popular. As soon as she said ‘Hawk Tuah’ on camera she instantly regretted it.”
So this nice story appears to put a bow on the entire Hawk Tuah incident, but is it true at all?
The Somerset Insider is a Satire page
While many people are reading this new story and instantly believing that the Hawk Tuah girl is Katie Vickers, they are not reading the fine print to find out what exactly The Somerset Insider does on a daily basis.
According to their own disclaimer, niftily placed beneath their viral story but which many people are apparently refusing to read, “The Somerset Insider is a news satire and parody publication,”
The entire story they crafted is a parody one, playing into the current ongoing and trending Hawk Tuah story.
And they aren’t the only ones – other similarly named parody pages such as ‘The Paducah Insider’ and ‘The Crawfordville Insider’ all reposted the stories but this time claiming Katie and her mother are from their towns!
Evidently, the story about Katie and Harley Vickers is satire and should be treated as such – not seriously and definitively not a true representation of the identity of our precious Hawk Tuah girl.
Who is the real Hawk Tuah spit on that thing girl – her name is Hailey Welch
As we already reported, Hailey Welch of Nashville is the real Hawk Tuah girl.
That name was revealed by Tim & Dee TV, the originators of the original viral video. They actually interviewed the two girls and hence are in a position to say what their names are.
By the way, her friend was also identified as Chelsea Bradford and not Melinda Capshaw.
Inasmuch as people would like to believe the Hawk Tuah girl is the daughter of a pastor, that has yet to be proven. Maybe she does turn out to be the daughter of a pastor after all but she’s certainly not the daughter of a pastor named Harley Vickers from Somerset, or Paducah, or Crawfordville etc.
