Who was Joseph Joe Kay? Plumsteadville Volunteer Fireman Dead in Accident

A volunteer fireman with the Plumsteadville Volunteer Fire Company known as Joe Kay has sadly died in an accident, throwing his family and friends into mourning.

Joe Kay per reports perished in an accident that occurred Saturday, June 1st, 2024 in Doylestown PA.

The Plumsteadville Volunteer Fire Company, who were the closest friends Joe had and the people who braved death alongside him to serve the needs of others, announced the news.

“It is with a heavy heart that the members of PVFC are sad to say that we have lost a friend and brother yesterday evening,” the PVFC said in a post on Facebook.

They added that Joe will be forever missed and that he would forever remain in the thoughts of his brothers for life.

Who was Joe Kay and What Happened in the Doylestown PA Accident?

Joe grew up in Pipersville, Pennsylvania where he attended Central Bucks High School.

Always handy with his hands, he decided to become an electrician, studying Electrical Occupations at the Pennsylvania College of Technology.

After graduating, he worked with the John W Kay Electric company.

Joe was also passionate about racing and was a member of the Indoor Auto Racing Championship team.

On Saturday, June 1st, Joe, who lived in Hilltown was driving when he got into an accident that cost him his life.

The sad death of Kay has rattled his family, friends, and colleagues who are in shock over the stunning news.

Joe, per all accounts, was a great guy, a loving husband, a dedicated fireman, and possessive of qualities that made him a valuable member of his community and one who would be dearly missed.

He was described as someone who not always had a kind word for others but was also adept at dishing out humorous comments to create humor in all situations.

Born Joseph Kay, Joe was married to Rachel who has now been widowed and left in deep mourning.

Rachel took to social media to express her sorrow at losing her friend, partner, husband, confidante, and lover a bit too soon.

Rachel, describing the depths of emotion she was feeling, wrote on Facebook: “Friends & Family – My sweet, full of life, perfect husband passed away in an accident last night,”

Rachel Kay continued: “The last few hours of my life, have been what happens in movies. The type of thing you think won’t ever happen to you or someone you know in real life. I will never recover from this. I will never be whole again. I loved him for every minute I knew him and will miss him for my entire lifetime. ❤️”

“Until we meet again my sweet love. Watch over me,”

To help with the financial burdens of a funeral, memorial service and other commitments, a GoFundMe was set up for Rachel by Andy Kiljanski.

“We are hoping to alleviate any financial burdens on Joey’s wife, Rachel, as she tries to navigate this world without the love of her life,” he wrote for the fundraiser which has been set up with a $100,000 goal.

Joe Kay’s memorial service has been scheduled for the 2nd of July 2024, when he will finally return to his creator.

It takes a special kind of person to be a volunteer firefighter and Joe was certainly special, as evidenced by all the tributes being paid to him following his passing.

May he rest in peace and find eternal rest in the bosom of his Lord.
