Jackson Luke Overton of Winfield, Alabama has been arrested and charged with murder following a shooting in Tuscaloosa on Saturday.
Overton, 18, is accused of shooting and killing Howell Holland, 21, of Fayette, Alabama, in a parking lot at the Embassy Suites hotel.
Police say a verbal altercation between the suspect and the victim, who knew each other, led to the shooting.
Tuscaloosa police were called around 9:10 p.m. Saturday to the parking lot of Embassy Suites at 2410 University Boulevard on a report of a shooting.

When they arrived, they found Howell Booth Holland III dead at the scene.
Multiple witnesses including the suspect were interviewed by police who discovered that Howell and Overton got into an argument and the latter took a gun out of his vehicle and shot the former.
Overton was arrested and charged with murder and has been booked into the Tuscaloosa County Jail where he’s being held without bond.
