Fundraiser Started for Addiel Ortiz, Corrections Officer and Coach Killed in Accident

A GoFundMe has been set up for Addiel Ortiz, a 31-year-old father of four who was killed in a motorcycle accident in Vineland NJ.

Addiel A Ortiz, 31, of Millville, was driving a motorcycle on Maple Avenue around 6 p.m. when it collided with a Chevrolet Traverse SUV operated by Lauren C Beisler, 42, of the Ocean View section of Dennis Township.

Ortiz, a corrections officer who volunteered as a coach, died in the collision alongside a 9-year-old boy who was riding in the backseat of Beisler’s car.

Ortiz was coach of the Vineland Blitz football team in the Cape Atlantic Jr. Football League. “Coach Addi” was riding from the soccer field at the complex to the football field at the time, according to New Jersey 101.5.

He was also a corrections officer at the Southern State Correctional Facility and Bayside State Prison.

Ortiz leaves behind his fiancé Destiny and 4 children, Cameron , Bella , Jenna and Avery. A GoFundMe started for his family had raised $22,170 at the time of publication.
