A young junior dragster racer from Newark, Ohio, Cody Hoberg has died in an accident at his home, throwing his immediate family and friends into sadness.
A slew of sad posts on social media announced the tragic news.
Cody was described as a high achiever for his age, winning races and establishing himself as a future star.
Unfortunately, all that would no longer pan out with sad news of his passing.

Cody Hoberg at just 19 years of age has passed away in an extremely unfortunate turn of events following a tragic accident at his home in Heath, Ohio.
What exactly happened has not been released to public records but a friend of the family described it as an accident at their home.
The exact cause and nature of the accident remain a mystery as at now.
Cody Hoberg was born 19 years ago to his parents, Shelly and Jimmy Hoberg, in Newark, Ohio.
The couple welcomed a pair of twin boys, one of which is Cody.
Cody was a child prodigy from the start, making his name on the JEGS Junior Dragster Racing scene.
At a very young age, he won the 10-year-old class race at the NHRA Jr Drag Racing League Eastern Conference Finals held at Bristol Dragway “Thunder Valley”.
His achievement, which was seen as remarkable, was highlighted by the NHRA DRAG RACING LOVERS FAN page.
“This weekend the NHRA Jr Drag Racing League Eastern Conference Finals were held at Bristol Dragway “Thunder Valley”. Driver, Cody Hoberg, won the 10-year-old class. This would be equivalent to winning the pro stock championship, just at a younger age,” their post read.
Not just into racing, Cody competed in varsity basketball during his time at Lakewood High School in Hebron, Ohio, according to his entry on the student athlete monitoring website MaxPreps. He graduated in 2023.
Cody proved his skill and talents and his love for racing even at a young age and there was no doubt he had a massively bright future in the game.
Tragically, his death was reported in June 2024 by his devastated family and friends.
“Cody Hoberg at 19 years young was called home. Please pray for peace for the family and friends of this fine young man,” Stephanie Stokosa wrote on Facebook.
She shared a ‘racing for Cody’ graphic which she used as her profile picture.
Cody’s mother Shelly did the same, using the graphic as her profile picture without adding any words.
Other friends mourned the young man who had been taken too soon at just 19 years of age.
“Ima miss you dawg. i love ya. fly high,” Ashton Butsko wrote alongside photos and videos of good times with Cody.
Cody Hoberg was a young man with a bright future but sadly, would not get the chance to live out his full potential.
Life can be cruel in that way and in such instances, one can only send out good wishes to the bereaved family.
