Brittany Hunter, 20 years old from St Catherine Parish in Jamaica was tragically killed in an accident while walking in the streets of her hometown.
The tragic accident happened when a truck coming down the street collided with Hunter, causing her unimaginable injuries that she was never to recover from.
The injured Hunter was taken to hospital for treatment but succumbed to her wounds.
Her death has sparked tons of discussions and speculations in her home country regarding the nature of the traffic accident, Hunter’s mental health, possible criminal charges for the driver and much more.
All About Brittany Hunter and the Accident that Took her Life
Brittany Hunter was a young up-and-comer from Jamaica with big plans for life, having landed a job as a customer service rep.
Hunter hailed from the town of St Catherine Parish and was hardworking, dedicated, and committed in her professional life.
In her personal life, she had one child, a baby boy that she doted on endlessly.
So on the surface, everything was rosy for Brittany but little did anyone know there was tragedy around the corner waiting to ensnare her in its trap.
Brittany was taking a walk on Friday, May 31st, 2024 when she attempted to cross a road and a truck ran her over.
Based on reports, around 8: 37 a.m. in the area of Commodore, Linstead, Hunter was crossing a road when a truck was also coming down the road.

She was run over by the truck when she could not get out of the way in time.
The truck driver was said to be distraught over the crash and the injured Hunter was carted to hospital but died of her wounds.
Apparently a video exists of the moment and social media users who watched it lamented Brittany for being careless in how she crossed the road.
Some even went as far to claim she purposefully made herself get hit by a truck as she wanted to take her life.
This angered friends of hers who denied she would ever do anything of the sort.
According to one who commented on an Instagram post, Hunter had a son who was her whole world hence she would never take her own life.
The angry friend slammed social media users sitting far away and casting judgment on Brittany.
“…This was a case of misjudgment and it could have happened to anyone or their loved ones…” the friend warned and lamented the tons of comments negatively viewing Brittany.
She described ‘Brit’ as a ‘beautiful soul’ and called for compassion and prayers rather than judgment.
A twenty-year-old mother of one dying at any time in any place around the world is deeply tragic and deserving of sympathy irrespective of the circumstances.
By all intents a beautiful soul, Brittany was simply living life as best as she could and facing its challenges head-on.
She would be sorely missed by family and friends… and may she rest in peace.
