Kevin Weeks is a Battle Ground High School teacher who was arrested in Oregon for attempting to arrange a s*xual meetup with a minor via social media.
Weeks, 57, was the cause of his own downfall, having been ensnared in a sting operation by members of the People V. Preds, a Facebook group that seeks to draw out p*dophiles among the population and put them behind bars, where they belong.
After drawing him out via online chats, the People V Preds page finally arranged a meetup scheduled for Saturday, April 20th, 2024 in Albany, Oregon.
Weeks unwittingly then presented himself on the fateful day, ready to meet a female whom he knew very well enough via their chats had identified as a minor.
There was no universe in which things weren’t going to end badly for him that day and Weeks was predictably arrested by members of the organization once he showed up.
He was booked into the Linn County Jail under suspicion of first-degree online s*xual corruption of a child.
Teachers hold an incredibly special place in society and therefore are held to incredibly high standards that Mr Weeks clearly failed to adhere to.
A child predator who works with children is a scary thought to process and thankfully, someone took action to take out this one before he could cause too much damage!
The sting
According to the convener of the People vs Preds organization, they have a tried and true modus operandi which is foolproof at drawing out child predators.
The group and its proxies create tons of accounts posing as underage children.
When pervs like Weeks reach out to them, they state upfront that they’re children and make sure they mention their age numerous times in conversation to make the person know they’re dealing with a minor.
At that point, whoever does not bail and still goes ahead to exchange adult-themed messages with the ‘underage girl’ and even go so far as to arrange a meet-up certainly knows what they’re planning!
The leader of the group traveled from California to Oregon to entrap Weeks and said within the short time he was in Oregon he managed to expose at least 20 child predators!
Regarding Weeks, he said the Battle Ground High School teacher reached out to one of his accounts and that was how the operation started.
“Kevin reached out to me, basically, Kevin reached out to me at the beginning of this trip,” he said.
In a statement to parents following Weeks’ arrest, Battle Ground High School Principal Charbonneau Gourde told parents that Weeks had been placed on administrative leave following his arrest and would remain so while the matter is investigated.
Pledging the school will fully cooperate with the law enforcement investigation, Principal Gourde also ensured to deny that Weeks’ actions do not in any way represent the school or its values.
“…We will take all measures necessary to ensure that our students are educated in a safe environment,” the statement read.
“If you have any concerns, please contact me. While I am limited in the information that I can share, I am ready to listen to any concerns that you wish to discuss,” it concluded.
