A Donora man, Jacob Snyder, 26, was arrested and charged with a double shooting in West Elizabeth Borough, Pennsylvania.

The Elizabeth Township Police Department received a call Saturday about a shooting at a bar in the 1000 block of 5th Street.

Officers responded promptly as usual and found 2 adult male victims suffering from gunshot wounds at the scene – one deceased and the other still alive.

The living victim was transported to an area hospital and is in stable condition whilst the deceased was identified as 36-year-old Edward Gibson.

For more resources, the Elizabeth Township Police requested the assistance of the Allegheny County Police Department’s Homicide Unit and detectives initiated an investigation.

Through witness interviews, investigators determined the shooting happened in the parking lot of Beer Belly’s bar and the individual responsible for the shooting had fled on foot following the incident.

Detectives were able to identify the shooter as 26-year-old Jacob Snyder and arrested him a short while later in Jefferson Hills where he had fled.

He was taken into custody and charged with criminal homicide, attempted homicide, and aggravated assault. Detectives also found a firearm registered to the suspect during their investigation.

Snyder was taken to the Allegheny County Jail pending arraignment.
