Robert Blomquist, 72-year-old Sherwood Man Killed in Highway 99 Crash

One person was killed and another seriously injured following a multi-vehicle crash Wednesday morning on Highway 99 (Southwest Pacific Highway), two miles north of Sherwood.

According to the Washington County Sheriff’s Office, 72-year-old Robert Blomquist of Sherwood was driving north on Highway 99 when he crashed into another motorist going the same direction.

Blomquist lost control of his car, crossed the median, and crashed into a box truck head-on.

The box truck also subsequently crashed into a dump truck.

One other person was seriously injured and was taken to the hospital with serious injuries but is expected to survive.
