A Burlington NC woman, Lourdes Vega, was shot and killed by her husband, Victor, in a murder-suicide on Friday.
Alamance County Sheriff’s Deputies responded to a call of shots fired at the 3300 block of Beaver Creek Road in Burlington.
Arriving deputies found the body of Lourdes Vega before a nearby home where she had run in an attempt to escape her estranged husband.
Witnesses told police that Vega had shot and killed his wife and then returned to their home.

Upon arrival at the Vega’s residence, Victor Vega was also found dead from a self-inflicted gunshot wound.
