A teacher from St. Charles County in Missouri, John Warnecke has been arrested after inflicting multi-year abuse on a 15-year-old student he manipulated after they met on social media.
Warnecke, a teacher at Jefferson Intermediate School has been charged with three counts of second-degree statutory sodomy.
He was arrested on Tuesday, July 16th, and was booked into the St. Charles County Jail on a $75,000 bond.
Who is John Warnecke? Teacher In Trouble After Abusing Teen
John Warnecke is a longtime teacher at the Jefferson Intermediate School in the St. Charles School District (SCSD) in Missouri.
Warnecke, 53, taught 6th-grade math and science at the school.
He was also a baseball and softball coach, according to records.
On Tuesday, July 16th, 2024, Warnecke was arrested following an investigation into alleged abuse of a minor.
He is accused of grooming and then having s*x with, a minor between the years of 2020/21.
The then 49-year-old teacher reportedly met his victim, a then 15-year-old student on social media and started grooming her to have a relationship with him.
According to court records, despite the teenage girl telling Warnecke his age at the time, he continued to chat her up on a regular basis and eventually set up meetings where he would have s*x with the minor.
The victim revealed that these s*xual encounters continued intermittently from 2021 till the summer of 2023 when they stopped.
The victim reported the issue to authorities who commenced an investigation during which Warnecke admitted his crimes during a call with the teen.

He also told police after his arrest that he had knowingly had carnal knowledge of a minor.
After Warnecke’s arrest, the St. Charles School District sent out a statement to families addressing the issue.
The statement said the SCSD is fully cooperating with authorities in their investigations and that they consider the safety of their students as their highest priority.
The school laid out security screenings they carry out before hiring anyone to ensure they do not have criminal backgrounds.
In light of the uncovered misconduct of a teacher, the School District reiterated their commitment to creating a safe environment for all students.
Social media reactions to the case were furious with many netizens calling for authorities to lock him up and lose the key.
Others called for him to be put in Gen Pop and allow other inmates to take care of him!
Stories such as these showing how those in authority abuse their special positions of privilege to take advantage of others really expose the rot in some human beings.
Hopefully, now that he’s been arrested the law takes its course and John Warnecke spends a long time behind bars.
