A mother from Hendersonville, Tennessee, Brandi Elliott has been arrested and charged following the drowning death of her child.
Elliot, 33-years-old, is accused of drowning her 7-year-old daughter Drakes Creek on Saturday.
She has been charged with first-degree murder.
According to a press release from the Hendersonville Police Department, officers were called to an incident that happened around 200 Sanders Ferry Road on Saturday, July 13th, 2024.
When police got to the site they were notified that a child, later identified as a 7-year-old female, had died from drowning.
Following their investigation, Hendersonville PD fingered the mother of the child, Brandi Elliott, as the likely suspect in her death.
She was summarily arrested and charged with murder in the first degree.
The incredible charge of first-degree murder hints that this wasn’t a case of neglect or an accident but that police believe Elliott deliberately murdered her child.

HPD officers booked her into the jail in Sumner County on Sunday, July 14th.
The incident completely shocked many people on social media and across the country over the apparent barbarity of a mother drowning her own offspring.
Many distraught netizens wondered what exactly has gone wrong in the country to allow such acts to be done by people without any remorse.
Others offered prayers to the deceased family and wished the worst kind of retribution on the mother who is now likely to serve a long time in jail!
