69-Year-Old Woman Killed in Four Vehicle-Crash Near UNO Campus Identified

A 69-year-old woman who was killed in a fatal crash in Omaha NE on Wednesday has been identified as Vickie Avant.

Avant was driving a Hyundai Tucson around 7 a.m. Wednesday on 62nd and Dodge streets near the University of Nebraska campus when she was rear-ended by a Ford Mustang driven by 23-year-old Terrell Turner.

The impact pushed her Tucson into an eastbound lane where she was hit by a Chevrolet Silverado, driven by 41-year-old Robert Lindeman.

Her Tucson and the Silverado both also ran into an eastbound Ford Ranger.

Avant suffered catastrophic injuries from the crash and was declared dead on the scene by Omaha Fire Department medics.

Lindeman was taken to the University of Nebraska Medical Center with minor abdominal injuries.

The crash remains under investigation by the Omaha Police Department and charges are pending.
